The Lighting Lab is an online 3D animation academy. We offer courses and mentorships in both Spanish and English.

Some courses/mentorships may not be available in English. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us through the form on our contact page or at info@thelightinglab.es.

On each page, there is information about the mentors who teach the classes. Our instructors have worked at leading industry companies such as Walt Disney Animation Studios, Sony Pictures Imageworks, MPC, Mikros Animation, ICON Creative Studios, among others.

At The Lighting Lab, we offer courses that cover a wide range of topics related to animated films and video games, from the fundamentals to more advanced and technical techniques, including:
  • 3D Lighting for Animation
  • Look Development and Grooming
  • FX for Animation and VFX
  • Prop Creation for Video Games

The Lighting Lab is an online academy, so everything will be taught online.

Each mentorship has its own duration and format, all of them are online and consist of classes with a very limited number of spots. To reserve your spot, you can do so on the page of each mentorship, or if you need more information, you can contact us through our admissions page to find out if you have the necessary level for the mentorship you wish to take.

There are no prerequisites for taking any of our courses. However, it is helpful to have some basic knowledge of 3D animation software. Our courses are designed to be accessible to both beginners and those with some experience. However, mentorships do require more knowledge, as they are more advanced and individualized. A portfolio/reel will be requested for those.

The specific duration of each mentorship is detailed in its description on our website. Courses can be taken at your own pace, as they consist of pre-recorded lessons.

All our courses are delivered online through an online learning platform. Students can access course materials at any time from the time of payment, from anywhere with an Internet connection. Online feedback and support is also provided through this same platform.

The syllabus is available in pdf format in the information of each course on our website.

Yes, we offer certifications after completing our courses. Students who successfully complete a course will receive a certificate of completion.

The cost of each course varies depending on the duration, level, and content of the course. Prices are detailed in the description of each course on our website. Prices do not include VAT (usually shown as price + VAT), unless otherwise specified on the website.

Yes, we will offer student discounts on our future courses. Details of the discounts will be provided in each course description.

Students can access the academy platform when purchasing a course/mentorship, so from that moment on they will have continuous support to receive feedback and answers to their questions. We also provide additional resources and reference materials online so that students can continue to improve their skills.

Yes, when you reserve a spot in any of our mentorships, that payment is deducted from the final payment when the course starts.
